TRIALLY & CRIO PARTNERSHIP DEMO
Kyle McAllister, CEO & Co-founder, Trially

Hi everybody, I'm Kyle McAllister, the CEO and co-founder of Trially. Thanks so much for taking time to check us out today. I'm excited to tell you about what we do and our partnership with CRIO, and looking forward to meeting some of you folks after this session.

A bit about my background and my team: Before Trially, I started my career in the EHR world—electronic health records—working at both Epic and Cerner. From there, I moved into research with CCT Research, a site network out of Phoenix, where I was VP of Data. That's where I really lived these problems and felt the pain of trying to find leads from clinical data sources. That's really where Trially was born.

I started the company with two co-founders: Ramon Prieto, our Chief Technical Officer, who was one of the lead engineers at Zapier focused on machine learning and data engineering, and Trevor Welch, who was Head of Data Products at Zapier before joining us. We built Trially around a problem that's been a challenge for decades: enrollment is difficult, and many sites fail to enroll patients for the trials they're actively recruiting.

From my experience at CCT, I saw that while many organizations focused on lead generation from social media, there were multiple root causes of enrollment failures. Sites got signed up for the wrong studies. They didn't have strong feasibility processes. They lacked great connections with physicians. We built Trially to tackle those root causes.

TODAY, TRIALLY PROVIDES:

AI Matching Engine

We've built a core AI matching engine that ingests clinical trial criteria from any trial, any therapeutic area. Our AI reads through the criteria and breaks down the inclusion and exclusion criteria into searchable fields. We connect to patients' clinical data at the site level—directly with clinical trial sites. We can connect to the EHR, the CTMS, or even use unstructured PDF documents. We've also recently added the ability to enrich data by fetching information from regional data networks we have access to.

Our engine sits in the middle of all these data sources and produces two key outputs: smart lead lists of patients that match trials, and trial recommendations for your site. We help you find trials that are a better fit for your study and work through your feasibility process.

The Two-Level Problem

We found that the first problem is always getting leads—sites need more patients in their recruiting funnel. Hooking into clinical datasets often floods the funnel with high-quality matches. But the second-level problem many of our customers face is capacity: they don't have the bandwidth to call and enroll all those patients.

That's why we built Margo, an AI agent that can call, text, and email patients, screen them into trials, and schedule them directly into your CTMS.

PLATFORM DEMO

Here's our core recruiting platform—what a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) or recruiter would see while actively enrolling patients. Our AI engine processes all inclusion and exclusion criteria in minutes and adds them to this screen. It then searches through both structured and unstructured content in patient charts—physician notes, result notes, and structured data.

Just this alone saves sites a tremendous amount of work. We're seeing sites drop 90% of the time they spent doing chart reviews, so CRCs aren't spending hours reading through patient charts and physician notes manually.

We also stack rank patients based on how well they fit the criteria. You can see whether a patient is a high-quality fit for the study. Working top to bottom with this ranking saves about 60-70% on screen failure rate with our sites.

When a CRC or recruiter wants to work with a patient, they can open the patient record, see their information, and check their fit across multiple protocols. A patient might not be the best fit for the protocol you're actively looking at, but could be a fit for another. Or you might call and discover they're not a good fit and move on. You can also see very specific details showing exactly why a patient does or doesn't fit based on their actual clinical data.

At this point, the CRC can either call the patient themselves or trigger a call from our voice agent, Margo, to screen them into the trial.

CRIO Integration

Once you've found patients who fit and want to push them into your recruiting flow, that's where CRIO shines. You can export patients directly to CRIO using this export button—select which site and study you're sending them to, mark Trially as the referral source, and they land in the prospect list within CRIO for follow-up.

Additional Features

We also provide funnel view support to help with feasibility earlier in the study startup period. We have a great case study where one of our sites used this data for feasibility. The sponsor came back saying, "There's no way you've got 493 matches for this study." The site was able to screenshot Trially, send it over, and ultimately win the award.

Clinic Walk-In Workflow

The last workflow I'll highlight was the most fruitful use case for us at CCT—it's built around patients physically walking into the clinic. The patients coming through the doors in the next 14 days or so are most likely to engage and enroll. This workflow captures that opportunity.

It can be built on EHR or clinical data, or sites can load patients coming in via CSV for the next couple of weeks. We pull down their data from multiple sources—for example, I could be in Kansas City, and we'd pull my records from University of Kansas South, St. Luke South, and my primary care physician, bringing them together in one place. Then we match against the loaded studies. Sites can trigger Margo outreach either a day or two before the visit or a day or two after to follow up and bring the patient in.

RESULTS & COMPLIANCE

Here's a quick case study from one of our great partners, Next Stage Clinical Research, on a difficult-to-enroll cardiovascular trial. We were able to significantly increase their enrollment rate month-to-month, becoming their number one enrolling source very quickly. We decreased chart review time by 90% and decreased screen failure rate by 73%.

On security: We're HIPAA compliant and SOC 2 certified. I'm happy to discuss details if you want to dig deeper. We'd love to work with you—please reach out to us for a free demo.

Thank you.
